About
What is the German Kitchen?
The German Kitchen is a haven for German-Americans, and anyone with a love of German culture. There is an event calendar listing German-themed events, as well as a recipe book that all members are allowed to add to. Also, history and current events of Germany will be highlighted, along with German language articles.
We are attempting to create a community-driven site, encouraging members to submit articles, recipes, and German educational resources to share with other admirers of Germany. Anything that you would like to contribute will be most appreciated.
About the Creators
Frank and Lisa are the husband and wife team behind The German Kitchen. Frank is from East Germany, and moved to the U.S. some 15 years ago to pursue a career in the computer sciences. Lisa is U.S. born, and is of German and Scottish descent. She and Frank have a son whom is bilingual, and attends a German language school one day a week. The family travels to Germany twice a year.
The German Kitchen is a tribute to the culture that Frank has temporarily left behind, and that Lisa has newly found a great passion for. This site will hopefully be a means for them to communicate to others that understand the beauty of the history and culture of Germany, as well as they do.
